Effective October 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the property website rentown.ge the Rentown apps for iPhone and Android, and the Rentown connector for AI assistants (together, the “Service”) collect, use, share, keep and protect personal data. The Service is operated by Rentown LLC (შპს „რენთაუნი“), identification code 405888856, registered at 6 Teodore Tironi St, Tbilisi, Georgia (“Rentown”, “we”, “us”).
The system real estate agencies use to publish their listings, Rentown CRM at crm.rentown.ge, has its own privacy policy.
We have two principles when it comes to collecting and processing personal data:
We process personal data in line with the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection. Depending on the data, we rely on the following grounds:
Like every website, ours receives your IP address and details of your browser with each request. Our server logs record the IP address, the web address requested (including search terms in it) and the time. We use them to run the Service and to investigate faults and abuse.
To count how many people saw a listing, we turn your IP address, browser and the date into a one-way code (a salted hash) and store that code with the listing number. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address. Agencies see only the resulting totals for their listings.
We run our own analytics on our own servers; no outside analytics company receives this data. It records how the website is used:
These records are linked to the same daily code as in section 3.2 and to a random session number kept in your browser tab, which changes after 30 minutes without activity. They are not linked to your name or to any account.
For about one visit in ten, we also record how the page looked and how the pointer moved and scrolled, so we can see where people get stuck. Anything typed into a form field is masked before it leaves your browser. We do not record visits from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or visits by automated programs.
Use Don’t analyse my visits at the bottom of any page of rentown.ge, and no analytics or recordings are collected from that browser. We also collect none from browsers that send the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Views are still counted as described in section 3.2.
rentown.ge does not set cookies. It keeps a few things in your browser’s storage so the site remembers your choices: your language, currency and theme, your favourites, whether the search map is shown, the latest exchange rate, a copy of recently loaded listings so pages open quickly, the date of your first visit, and your analytics choice. For the current visit it also keeps the random session number from section 3.3 and the campaign tags of the link you arrived by.
Your favourites stay on your device; we are told only that a listing was added to favourites, as part of the analytics. The network that delivers the site may set its own security cookies.
If you write to us, we keep your message and our reply, and use them only to answer you.
Every listing page on rentown.ge has a Report button for telling us that a listing is wrong, for example already rented, wrongly priced or fake. A report keeps the listing number, the reason you chose, the comment you wrote if any (at most 500 characters), the time, and a one-way code made from your IP address with a secret salt (a salted hash), never the IP address itself. We use the code only to limit how many reports can be sent (one per listing a day and five an hour from one connection) and to spot abuse, and we erase it after 30 days. Every attempt to send a report, including one that is refused, is also counted against the same code, with only its time, and that count is deleted after a day. Reports are read by the Rentown team in Rentown CRM. Do not put personal details in the comment.
Rentown offers a connector that lets AI assistants, starting with Claude by Anthropic, search the listings on rentown.ge and read listing and agency pages for the person using the assistant. It answers at https://rentown.ge/mcp; how it works is explained on the Rentown connector page. It returns only what rentown.ge already shows publicly: never property owners’ details, never agents’ personal phone numbers, and nothing from Rentown CRM that is not published. It needs no account and no sign-in.
For each request we keep the time, the tool used (for example a search), the search filters the assistant sent (such as the district, the price range or the number of rooms), how many results were returned, the name the assistant’s software gives for itself, and whether the request failed. We use this to run and improve the connector and to count how it is used, and we delete it after 90 days. The assistant sends us only these filters, never the conversation itself. Requests come from the assistant provider’s servers, not from your device; their IP address is used in memory to limit how many requests can be made, and appears in our server logs like that of any other request (section 9).
In Claude, the connector’s answer to a search, a listing or an agency can also appear as listing cards: each listing’s cover photo, price and main facts, with a button that opens the listing on rentown.ge. The cards are drawn on your own device, which loads their photos and the Rentown font directly from rentown.ge and its content delivery network, the same way it loads the photos on the site, so these requests carry your device’s IP address like any visit to rentown.ge (section 3.1). The cards set no cookies, run no analytics and send us nothing about you or the conversation. A listing opened from a card is an ordinary visit to rentown.ge, with the tag described next.
Links in the connector’s answers carry a tag (utm_source=claude), so that a visit made by following one is counted in our analytics as coming from Claude (section 3.3). What you write to the assistant is handled by its provider under its own privacy policy; for Claude, that is Anthropic.
When the app is first opened it creates a random identifier for that installation. The app sends it with its requests so we can keep the Service running fairly for everyone. It is not linked to your name, your Apple ID, your Google account or anything else about you.
If you allow notifications, Apple gives the app a notification address for your phone, and the app sends it to us with the install ID and your language. We use it to tell you about new listings and price changes. We keep a record of each notification sent. A registration is deleted 30 days after Apple tells us the phone no longer accepts notifications, or after 180 days in which the app was not opened; records of notifications sent are deleted after 90 days. To stop notifications, turn them off for Rentown in your iPhone’s settings, or remove the app. The Android app does not use notifications.
The app keeps your language, currency and theme, your favourites and copies of recently loaded listings and photographs on your phone. Opening a listing in the app counts a view in the same way as on the website (section 3.2). The app contains no advertising or analytics software from other companies.
Test versions of the app, before its release, sent technical performance reports: the app version, the phone model and iOS version, with the install ID. The released app sends none. Those reports were deleted on September 30, 2026, and any a test version still sends are deleted after 90 days.
Maps in the app are provided by Apple. Buttons that call, open WhatsApp or give directions hand you over to the Phone app, WhatsApp or Apple Maps. In the Android app, maps come from the same map service as the website, and those buttons hand you over to your phone’s dialler, WhatsApp or your maps app.
Listings on the Service are published by real estate agencies through Rentown CRM. For each listing we show the property’s details, price, photographs and video, its street and house number, and its location on a map. For each agency we show its name, logo, phone number, address, website, description and social media links, and the names, photographs, joining dates and number of listings of its agents.
The call and WhatsApp buttons on a listing connect you to Rentown’s number, and we pass your enquiry to the agency.
The same public information is also available to AI assistants through the Rentown connector (section 3.9).
The property owner’s name and phone number, the cadastral code and the public registry documents are never published on the Service.
If you are an owner or an agent and want something about you corrected or removed, write to us (section 11).
The Service runs on servers in Germany, and photographs and videos are delivered through a content delivery network. All connections are encrypted (HTTPS only). Analytics, recordings and logs can only be read by Rentown’s administrators. Backups of the databases are encrypted before they are sent off the server; the hosting provider’s own copies of the server are protected by that provider and are not separately encrypted by us. Requests are rate-limited to protect the Service from abuse.
If a security breach affects personal data, we will inform the State Audit Office of Georgia and the people affected, as the law requires.
Agencies see how many times their listings were viewed. When you call or write through the Service, the agency learns what you tell it. If you report a listing, we may tell the agency what is wrong with it, but never who reported it.
Some of these providers are outside Georgia, including in the United States.
When you use a button to call, write on WhatsApp or Telegram, share a listing on Facebook, Telegram or WhatsApp, or open a place in Google Maps or Apple Maps, you leave the Service and that company handles your data under its own privacy policy.
We disclose personal data to public authorities only where Georgian law requires us to, and only what the request lawfully covers.
Under the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection you have the right to:
Because you have no account with us, we can usually only find data about you if you give us something to find it by, such as the approximate time of a visit or your app’s install ID. You can also turn analytics off (section 3.5), clear your browser’s storage for rentown.ge, turn off notifications or remove the app. Write to us at info@rentown.ge.
We will review and may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will become effective when we post the revised policy on this page, with its new date.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or about your data, write to us at info@rentown.ge, or by post to Rentown LLC, 6 Teodore Tironi St, Tbilisi, Georgia.
